Michigan — Costco has introduced a new savory snack at select food court locations, and it’s stirring up both excitement and nostalgia among customers.
Unveiled in a video by Instagram account @costcobuys on May 21, the new Combo Calzone is already generating buzz. The golden-brown, handheld calzone is packed with a hearty blend of pepperoni, sausage, cheese, onions, peppers, olives, and mushrooms—echoing the flavors of the long-missed combo pizza. Priced at $6.99, the new item is described by its first tasters as “delicious” and “definitely giving combo pizza vibes.”
The response from social media was swift and enthusiastic.
“Oh wow,” one user commented, while another added simply, “YUM!” Others posted messages like “OMG looks SO GOOD!” and “WHAAAATTTT? HALLELUJAH!!!” Some noted they hadn’t seen the item at their local warehouse yet but were hopeful it would arrive soon.
However, amid the praise, many fans couldn’t help but bring up a beloved menu item that’s been absent from Costco’s offerings for years: the original combo pizza.
“WHERE’S THE COMBO PIZZA? At this point they are playing with us,” one frustrated commenter wrote. Another echoed the sentiment: “They be doing anything but bring the combo pizza back.” A third added, “Sigh… I don’t want that mushed up inside mess. I want the combo pizza back!”
Currently, the Combo Calzone appears to be available only in select regions, with no word yet from Costco on whether a nationwide rollout is planned. While fans are eager to try the new food court item, many are still holding out hope for the return of the original combo pizza that once had a cult following.
