May 28, 2025 — A recall has been issued for several Greek salad products sold at major grocery chains across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic after cucumbers used in the items were linked to a Salmonella outbreak.
The recall affects consumers in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
Fresh Creative Foods, a division of Albertsons Companies, initiated the recall after it was discovered that the salads contained cucumbers supplied by Bedner Growers, Inc. of Boynton Beach, Florida. The cucumbers have been associated with a multistate Salmonella outbreak that has led to at least nine hospitalizations so far.
The recalled products include:
- Salad Greek Authentic FS
- Readymeals Salad Greek SS
- Salad Greek FS
These items were sold between May 20 and May 24 at the deli sections of ACME, Balducci’s Food Lovers Market, Kings Food Markets, Safeway, Shaw’s, and Star Market.
Consumers who purchased any of the affected salads are advised not to eat them. Instead, they should dispose of the products or return them to the store for a full refund.
For questions or concerns about the recall, customers can contact Albertsons Companies’ Customer Service Center at 1-877-723-3929, Monday through Friday, from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. PST.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and urge the public to stay informed on food safety updates.
