Deuter has issued a recall for more than 5,000 of its Kid Comfort, Kid Comfort Pro, and Kid Comfort Active child carriers after reports of fall hazards.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the affected carriers have foldable rear kickstand support legs with hinges that can crack or break, posing a risk to children. While there have been 13 reports of the hinges failing, no injuries have been reported.
The recalled carriers are available in maroon, green, blue, and teal, with the brand name “Deuter” printed on the back. The recall includes the following models:
- Kid Comfort (Model #3621221, Colors: Maroon, Forest)
- Kid Comfort Pro (Model #3621321, Color: Midnight)
- Kid Comfort Active (Model #3621121, Color: Teal)
Products were sold from March 2023 to March 2025 at stores like REI, Bass Pro, and online retailers like Amazon and the Deuter website.
Customers should contact Deuter for a free replacement by filling out the recall form on the company’s website.
