Harris Teeter Recalls Fresh Salsa Due to Salmonella Concern

Harris Teeter is recalling certain East Coast Fresh Salsa products due to possible Salmonella contamination. The products were made using Bedner cucumbers, which are linked to an ongoing Salmonella outbreak. No illnesses have been reported related to the salsa so far.

The recall, issued by East Coast Fresh, was announced on May 21, 2025. Harris Teeter has removed the affected items from store shelves. It is unclear whether the recalled products were sold at all Harris Teeter locations.

What Consumers Should Do

If you purchased either salsa, do not eat it. Dispose of the product securely by double-bagging it and placing it in a sealed trash container, or return it to the store for a full refund.

If you have eaten the recalled salsa, monitor for symptoms of Salmonella infection over the next week. These may include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and stomach cramps. If symptoms appear, seek medical attention promptly.
