Washington-Morgan Community Action will sponsor the 2025 Summer Food Service Program, offering grab-and-go meals to eligible children and youth across the region.
The program provides free meals to all children aged 18 and under, as well as individuals over 18 who have been identified as medically or physically disabled by a public educational agency.
In addition to hot meals served daily, participants will receive a shelf-stable breakfast for the week and weekend meal packs at select sites.
To help with meal planning and preparation, families are asked to call the central kitchen at 740-373-3455 the day before or by 8 a.m. on the day they plan to pick up a meal. Families should indicate which site they will be visiting.
Community Action emphasized that the summer food program plays a key role in supporting school readiness. Many children rely on school meals as their main source of nutrition, and during summer, these meals are not available. Research shows that lack of proper nutrition over the summer can cause children to start the school year as much as six months behind.
Free hot meals will be served Monday through Friday, from June 9 to August 15, at the following locations:
- Beverly Presbyterian Church
200 Fourth St., Beverly — Noon to 12:30 p.m. - Lower Salem Village Hall
State Route 821, Lower Salem — 12:30 to 1 p.m. - Lowell Elementary School
305 Market St., Lowell — 12:30 to 1 p.m. - Warren Middle School (sports shelter)
130 Warrior Drive, Vincent — 12:30 to 1 p.m. - Belpre Church of the Nazarene
1301 Putnam Howe Drive, Belpre — Noon to 12:30 p.m. - Carrol Senior Center
