McDonald’s is changing its hours of operation starting this summer, with most locations across the United States staying open later into the night.
The fast-food giant announced that the “vast majority” of its restaurants nationwide will remain open until midnight or later, beginning this summer and continuing throughout the year. The move comes as McDonald’s aims to meet customer demand during longer summer nights.
A company spokesperson confirmed that most menu items will still be available during the extended hours. However, specific offerings may vary, as franchise owners will have the final say on what is served. Popular items like the McFlurry and the new Chicken Strips with tangy dipping sauce are expected to remain on the late-night menu. It is still unclear whether breakfast items will be included.
Some locations will not be affected by the new hours. McDonald’s restaurants in non-traditional settings—such as airports, highway rest stops, and shopping malls—are not required to extend their hours.
This update is part of a broader set of changes by McDonald’s. Recent additions include the integration of select CosMc’s menu items into regular stores, the permanent rollout of real lemonade, and enhanced breakfast options. The company is also continuing to develop its CosMc’s concept for future expansion.
