The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is urging parents to immediately stop using a model of Magic ZC infant strollers due to serious safety risks, including the potential for death or injury.
The warning concerns Magic ZC-branded model V9 strollers, which pose an entrapment hazard. A gap between the seat and grab bar could allow a baby to become trapped, violating federal stroller safety regulations.
The handheld infant carrier included with the travel system also fails to meet federal standards for labeling and instructional requirements under the infant carrier safety rules.
The strollers are sold as part of 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 travel systems, featuring foldable seats that convert into bassinets. They come in pink, gray, peach, cream, and black, with gold metal accents, and include multiple accessories such as a rain cover, mosquito net, changing mat, and car seat base.
The products were manufactured in China by Maijikekeji Youxiangongsi and Dongguan Reborn Trade Technology Co. Ltd., doing business as Magic ZC. Despite receiving a notice of violation from the CPSC, the companies have not agreed to a recall.
The CPSC advises consumers to stop using the strollers immediately and dispose of them. Do not sell or give away these hazardous products.
Consumers who have experienced safety issues or injuries are encouraged to report incidents at SaferProducts.gov.
