CINCINNATI (WKRC) — A cooking mix used for breading and battering food has been recalled in several states, including Ohio, after a consumer reported becoming ill.

The recall, announced by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on May 29, involves 6-ounce boxes of Shore Lunch Oven Style Breader & Batter Mix. The product was recalled due to the presence of an undeclared allergen, milk, which could pose a risk to individuals with dairy allergies.

According to the report, one person fell ill after consuming the product, though they had recovered by the time the recall was issued.

The affected product was distributed to 10 states, including Ohio, between April 2024 and May 2025.
