June 5, 2025 — A popular frozen dessert sold at Aldi is being pulled from shelves in 13 states after a packaging error failed to warn consumers about a potential allergen.
Camerican International, a New Jersey-based food manufacturer, has issued a recall of its Casa Mamita Churro Bites Filled with Chocolate Hazelnut Cream after discovering the product contains milk, which was not declared on the packaging. The omission could pose a serious or life-threatening risk to individuals with a milk allergy.
According to the recall notice, affected boxes are 7.05 ounces, marked with lot number 01425 and a best by date of July 14, 2025.
The recalled Churro Bites were distributed to Aldi locations in the following states:
Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Missouri, Kentucky, Georgia, Mississippi, Illinois, Alabama, Arkansas, Iowa, Louisiana, and Tennessee.
Consumers who have purchased the product — especially those living with milk allergies or serving someone who does — are urged not to consume it. The product should be returned to the store for a full refund.
For questions, consumers can contact Camerican International at 201-587-0101 (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET) or email [email protected].
